07/01/2006 - Boston, MA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Unrestricted free-agent defenseman Zdeno Chara and unrestricted free-agent center Marc Savard have signed contracts with the Boston Bruins, the team announced on Saturday. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Chara's deal was for five years, while Savard's was for four.

"Zdeno is one of the premier defensemen in the National Hockey League and we are thrilled that he will be in a Boston uniform for the next five years," Bruins interim general manager Jeff Gorton said. "He is a big reason why Ottawa allowed the fewest goals in the Eastern Conference last season and that is one area that we were committed to improving on our team. We also feel that he will serve as a tremendous example to the number of young defensemen we have on our roster."

The 29-year-old Chara will enter his ninth season with his third NHL team. The tallest player in the league, the 6-foot-9 Chara matched a career high with 16 goals and added 27 assists for a career-best 43 points for the Senators last season.

Chara was drafted by the New York Islanders as the third pick, 56th overall, in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Chara was sent to Ottawa along with Jason Spezza in a trade for Alexei Yashin following the 2001 season.

The Slovakia native was named a first-team All-Star and a Norris Trophy finalist following the 2003-04 season. Chara has notched 57 goals and 118 assists for 175 points in 530 games over the course of his NHL career.

The 28-year-old Savard, who will enter his ninth NHL season with his fourth team, has scored 20 or more goals in three different seasons and he finished the 2005-06 campaign with 28 goals and 69 assists for 97 points in 82 games for the Atlanta Thrashers, all career bests.

"Marc is one of the top playmaking centers in the game today," Gorton said. "He will fit in well with the skill players we have on our team and the direction in which we are headed."

MySportsbook.com refunds all bets on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay from NFL week one.

(September 14) – Week one of NFL action saw three teams go scoreless for the first time since 1977.  Another four were unable to get a touchdown and almost half of the underdogs covered the spread. Those three teams saved bettors at MySportsbook.com from losing out completely, thanks to the company’s unique NFL Shutout Rule -- which ensures that if the team you backed goes scoreless, your wager is refunded.

Sportsbook refunded tens of thousands of dollars to customers who bet on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay, the three teams that stunk up the field so badly that their fans and backers never had a chance to get up from their couches and cheer.  In the spirit of the low scoring start to the season, odds makers at the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino have set odds on how many total shutouts there will be this season.

MySportsbook.com has posted updated sports betting lines for week two of the season.  Ben Roethlisberger’s health status is still questionable, so Willie Parker will try to lead Pittsburgh again as they travel to Jacksonville as a one point favorite.  After beating up on his little brother last week, Peyton Manning will look to lead the Colts to victory against Houston. Indianapolis is a whopping 13.5 favorite in the match-up.

Seattle, last year’s highest scoring team, showed the power of their defense with their gritty 9-6 win in Motown over the ravenous Lions.  They take their act back home to the comforts of Qwest Field where they will face the resurgent Arizona Cardinals.  The Seahawks are favored by a touchdown.
